Bishop David Oyedepo has spoken about the need for Nigerians to see the country as a shared home, regardless of their religious or ethnic background.
He said the country does not belong to Muslims, Christians, any particular ethnic group or politicians, stressing that every Nigerian has a place in the nation.
While delivering a sermon, Bishop David Oyedepo said:
“Don’t vote for a Christian, we won’t give it to a Christian. Who’re you to give it? Muslims don’t own Nigeria, we’re not tenants to the Fulanis,no Nigerian is more Nigerian than others. We own this country together. Politicians don’t own the nation, Nigerians own the Nation”.
Oyedepo said no Nigerian should be made to feel like a tenant or outsider in the country because of their religion or ethnic identity.
He also stressed that political leaders do not own Nigeria, saying the country belongs collectively to its citizens.
