Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has explained why he has a tattoo, saying tattoos have long been part of human culture and that there is no scripture that directly describes getting one as a sin.
Speaking during an interview on TVC, Okonkwo said he has never seen a contradiction between having a tattoo and being a preacher.
He also pointed out that some pastors he has worked with have tattoos.
“Tattoos have always been part of human culture… There’s no scripture that says getting a tattoo is a sin. Tattoo has always being part of human culture and nature.
“I’m a motivation preacher who had preached in motivational churches that the pastors also have tattoos. So, I don’t know what was the social media drama was all about because I had a tattoo.”
While Leviticus 19:28 states, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD”. However, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has maintained that there is no scripture that says getting a tattoo is a sin, standing by his decision to have one.
