Skit maker Kevin Arua, popularly known as Kevinblak and known for his Governor Amuneke character, says threats over his political content will not stop him from speaking about bad governance.
The content creator made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Mind, where he talked about the challenges that have come with using satire to comment on political and governance issues.
According to Kevinblak, he has received several threats because of the issues he addresses through his content. He said he was aware of the possible consequences before choosing to take that path.
He said:
“I have gotten countless threats because of my contents criticising bad governance. Well, it’s a journey I knew the implication before I started so what that’s going to happen should happen. I once received a message from someone, saying he knows my house and they would come after me.”
Despite the threats, Kevinblak said they have not changed his decision to continue using his platform to criticise poor governance and draw attention to issues affecting the country.
His political skits, including those featuring Governor Amuneke, use humour and satire to address governance and issues affecting Nigerians.
