A 55-year-old motorist has escaped unhurt after a moving train collided with his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged
The train was travelling towards Agege when the collision occurred, involving the Honda, with registration number EKY 902 JT.
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and security personnel swiftly rescued the driver and removed the wrecked vehicle from the railway track, enabling the train to resume its journey.
No casualty was reported in the incident.
However, the collision caused severe traffic congestion around the PWD axis, disrupting vehicular movement along the affected corridor.
The wrecked vehicle was subsequently handed over to security personnel for investigation into the cause of the collision.
