Actress Doris Ogala has questioned those criticising her decision to run for governor of Abia State under the AAC, asking them not to forget the causes she has stood up for in the past.
The actress challenged her critics to look beyond the controversy surrounding Chris Okafor and remember her history of speaking up for others, including her fight on behalf of Regina Daniels’ brother.
In a post, she said:
“Why won’t you encourage this bold step I’ve taken? Why have you forgotten the Doris who fights for people? Why would you allow Chris Okafor’s story to cloud your judgment? Why won’t you remember the Doris who fought for Regina Daniels’ brother? Where is your empathy?”.
Doris’s message centres on her belief that her past actions should count for something as she pursues her political ambition.
She wants those questioning her decision to consider the person they have known her to be, rather than allow the Chris Okafor controversy to shape their entire view of her.
