As the milestone inches into sight, Cristiano Ronaldo took another step toward the elusive 1,000-goal mark. In Al Nassr’s Matchday 10 Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Faisaly, Ronaldo bagged his 982nd career goal with a clinical header
Following a VAR review, officials drew the offside lines to confirm Cristiano was onside, allowing his goal to stand.
The strike marked Ronaldo’s fifth Saudi Pro League goal of the season for Al Nassr, leaving him just three behind league leader Ivan Toney.
Just one minute after netting his 982nd career goal, Ronaldo appeared to score his 983rd, only for the play to be waived off due to a teammate being caught offside. The Portuguese superstar had also come close to opening his account in the first half, when a sharp attempt clanged off the post.
