Senator Ned Nwoko has defended his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, urging her fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators to give her space to recover amid their lingering marital crisis
Nwoko made the appeal in a Monday statement shared on his social media page, expressing concern about the actress’ well-being and the circulation of what he described as false reports about her health and personal life.
He said the appeal was necessary not only for Daniels but also for their children, who, according to him, deserved to see their mother supported as she worked towards recovery.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space.
“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.
Nwoko added that Daniels had been through difficulties that the public might not fully understand, urging people to show compassion rather than judge or criticise her.
“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain,” he said.
The senator also condemned the circulation of fabricated d.eath announcements and other reports he said were distressing to the actress.
“I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated d.eath announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement,” he said.
He warned that those responsible for spreading false information about Daniels could face legal action.
“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her de.ath, health or personal circumstances,” he stated.
Nwoko said the publications were being documented and that those found responsible would be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels.
The statement comes amid the public marital crisis between the lawmaker, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, and Daniels, which erupted in October 2025.
The couple, who married in 2019, have two sons together.
