A former Nigerian President, Shehu Shagari, is dead. Shagari, 93, died this evening at the National Hospital Abuja after a brief illness.
His death was announced by his grandson, Bello Shagari, via his Twitter handle writing;
”I regret announcing the death of my grandfather, H.E Alhaji Shehu Shagari, who died right now after brief illness at the National hospital, Abuja.”
