Much-Loved BBC Presenter & Art Critic Dies At 88

    Much-loved BBC presenter Sister Wendy Beckett has died at the age of 88. The nun presented a string of programmes for the broadcaster.

    She was also a writer and an art critic. She sadly passed away on Boxing Day. The news was shared by a BBC journalist, who wrote: “Sad news. Sister Wendy Beckett, writer, art critic and presenter of a much loved and popular series of BBC programmes about painting has died.”

    Sister Wendy was a religious sister who became well known during the 1990s when she presented a series of documentaries for the BBC on the history of art.

    She was known for her programmes, including Sister Wendy’s Odyssey and Sister Wendy’s Grand Tour.
