News of Kate Spade’s untimely death sent shock waves throughout the fashion world. And it seems fans are desperate for a lasting memento of the late designer, with handbags from her Frances Valentine range selling out almost instantly.
At the time of writing, every handbag from Spade’s accessories label – launched in 2016 – was listed as out of stock on the brand’s website (francesvalentine.com).
Sold-out designs include a $375 (£279) vachetta leather shoulder tote, a $295 (£219) wicker crossbody and a $245 (£182) canvas shopping tote.
Even a $28 (£21) canvas wine bag, a $35 (£26) pair of earrings and a $58 (£43) household valet tray had sold out in addition to sunglasses, wallets and makeup cases!
