A teenage girl, her boyfriend and his friend are facing murder charges after cops say she convinced the pair to kill a man she accused of s3xually abusing her.
Lavaya Ann May, 16, boyfriend Jonathan Ruffini, 18, and 23-year-old friend Hunter Tyson are accused of murdering Ted Lee, 58, on July 14 in Florida.
Police say Ruffini and Tyson waited inside Lee’s house armed with a 10lb baseball bat and a knife on May’s instruction, before beating and stabbing him to death.
The attack was so severe that a piece of Lee’s skull broke off and ended up embedded in the wall of his house, officers allege.
After the attack the trio loaded Lee’s body into the trunk of his car and fled the state before being arrested in Kansas.
Investigators say Lee has never been arrested in Lee County, and they are not aware of any evidence to support May’s claims.
Lee’s remains were discovered there the following day, and the missing person investigation was upgraded to a murder.
Police were also able to trace Lee’s credit cards which were used to purchase two cell phones en route, before officers caught up with them on July 18.
May is now facing a homicide charge, while Tyson and Ruffini are charged with homicide, vehicle theft, and credit card fraud.
