Spain’s Mireia Lalaguna Royo has been named the winner of
the Miss World 2015 competition Saturday night in the southern Chinese island
resort of Sanya. She was handed the crown by last year’s winner Rolene Strauss
of South Africa.

Miss Russia, Sofia Nikitchuk, was named first runner up
while Miss Indonesia, Maria Harfanti, was second runner up. The trio had
battled it out with Miss Jamaica and Miss Lebanon as the final five after the
remaining women lost out.

Miss Spain comes from Barcelona and is currently studying
pharmacy with the aim of setting up a business in nutricion.
