Update: The kidnappers of the former minister have contacted
his family and demanded the sum of N100m. They called his wife and told her the
money must be paid before the end of tomorrow in order for the former minister to
regain his freedom. According to his party, SDP, the politician was kidnapped in
his farm around 2pm today. The kidnappers shot sporadically as they stormed the
farm and wasted no time in abducting him.
