
The League of Imams and Alfas in
the South-West, Edo and Delta States have approved the appointment of an
Ibadan-based businessman, Alhaji Dawud Akinola, as the new Aare Musulumi of
Yoruba-land. The League gave the approval yesterday during its meeting held at
its secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The appointment came after late
business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao, passed on
last year. Late Arisekola also has ties with Ibadan and was appointed to the honorary
position at the age of 35 till he died, June 18, 2014 at the age of 69.
