Remember I reported exclusively here late last night that
some Surulere youths wrote in about their road which has been abandoned for
quite some time now. The youths accused the government and the construction
company of leaving the road unattended to for about two years. Well, I know
some of the youths who sent in the story might be shocked, but the truth is,
they are about to smile again, as the construction company, Plycon Construction
has replied them assuring them that a visible change will be made this week,
and work will commerce fully soon after the raining season. Below is a mail they
sent to me assuring the people of Surulere that the needed change is here. Such
a good news.

Dear Ladun Liadi,
This is in response to the Aguda youths concerning Adetola Road, in Suru Lere. We are sincerely
apologizing for the hardships faced on the Adetola road and we understand that
no amount of words can alleviate the stress and pains experienced while using
the road. While this is no excuse, we would like the youths and residents to
know that the paving stones and machinery on site are not there as a ruse to
deceive them but was part of the plan to swiftly finish the road. However, there
were challenges that affected the project plan and thus delayed the pace of
work.

Plycon would like to assure the residents that there will be
noticeable activity on that stretch of road
this week but full construction work cannot be carried out until the end
of the rainy season. Once again we apologize for the hardships and hope the
youth can partner with us to ensure that their community is made better. We hope concerns and complaints can be sent
directly to us on [email protected].
