destroyed substandard goods worth N5 billion in the first eleven months of 2014.

While addressing journalists during the destruction of some
of the goods yesterday at the agencies dumpsite in Shagamu, Ogun State, the

brought into the country through unapproved routes along the borders in
different parts of the country and are of low quality which might cause hazards
to citizens.

Among the sub-standard products destroyed were electronics,
armoured cables, tyres, expired supermarket breakfast cereals, extension
sockets, mini-led flashlights, rechargeable lamps, shaving sticks, mobile
phones, stabilizers, engine oil, and ball pens.
