Jonathan Officially Declares For Second Term

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday formally declared that
he will seek a second term of office at next year’s general election while
addressing the large crowd that turned out for his declaration today.

“I, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, have accepted to
present myself on the platform of the PDP,” he told supporters of his Party at
a mass rally held today in Abuja.

Jonathan has been the Head of State since 2010 when he took
over following the death of President Umara Yar’Adua, winning elections in
2011.
