An engineering graduate of Ekiti State University, Mr.
Sunday Omotayo, yesterday was prevented from committing suicide by Akwa Ibom State
police men. According to them, Omotayo ran towards prison officials who were
fully armed and asked them to shoot him or allow him to rot inside the prison
because he has been looking for a job since he graduated 10years ago. The
policemen on duty consoled him and forced him into a commercial bus, so he
could go home, but instead, Omotayo jumped out of the moving bus so other cars
coming behind could run over him.
He was later forced out of the road and said he wanted to
take his life because there was no state he has not been to in search of a job
and he only came to Akwa Ibom when he heard what Gov. Godswill Akpabio was
doing so he could get a job, but found out that the people of Akwa Ibom were also
crying because of poverty and joblessness.
