The judge said; that it was unlawful for the commission to
impose the new number plates on Nigerians, where no existing law permitted it.

The suit was filed by Emmanuel Ofoegbu, a lawyer, against
FRSC after they insisted every Nigerian must get the plate number, or have
their vehicles impounded as from the 1st of October, 2014.
