Court fixes April 14 to hear suit challenging ADC leadership

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled April 14 to hear a legal dispute questioning the leadership of the African Democratic Congress under former Senate President David Mark.

The case was instituted by Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is asking the court to restrain Mark and other officials from presenting themselves as members of the party’s leadership.

Presiding judge Emeka Nwite fixed the hearing date on Friday after confirming that all parties involved had been duly notified.

Listed as defendants in the suit—marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1819/2025—are the African Democratic Congress, Mark, former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, the Independent National Electoral Commission, and former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu.

The matter had previously been put on hold indefinitely while awaiting the outcome of an appeal challenging an earlier ruling in the case.
