A Nigerian lawyer, Olakiitan Bolu Agbanje, has filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against relationship therapist Blessing CEO over allegations of obtaining money under false pretences

Speaking during an interview on TVC News, the lawyer urged authorities to take swift action and arrest the self-styled therapist while also probing the circumstances surrounding the funds she allegedly requested.

Agbanje, who opened up about her daughter’s battle with cancer, recounted the emotional toll it took on her family. She described how the diagnosis nearly pushed her to the edge, forcing her to carry out extensive research and take decisive steps to ensure her child’s survival. According to her, this personal experience is why she finds any issue involving cancer extremely sensitive.

In the petition, which was also sent to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate, she called for a thorough investigation into the matter, insisting that the reasons behind the money request must be uncovered.

“I know how I felt when my daughter had cancer. I almost ran mãd, and I know the research that went into it and what steps we took.

If it wasn’t for the cause it was meant, we need to know. If, in fact, this person is even sick. This person has the money to take care of themselves, yet they go to the public to ask for funds; that’s a form of fraud”.
