The family of legendary Juju musician Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has dismissed reports suggesting he is missing, assuring the public that the music icon is “safe and sound.”
In a statement released on Tuesday, his son and manager, Dayo Adegeye, described the rumours as malicious and unfounded. “There is no truth whatsoever to the claims that King Sunny Ade is missing. He is alive, well, and in good health,” he said.
The clarification comes after one of KSA’s daughters, Damilola Adeniyi, raised concerns over her father’s whereabouts, claiming he had been unreachable for weeks and accusing his manager of isolating him from close family members.
Reacting to the claims, Dayo Adegeye refuted the allegations, stating that the music legend’s recent low profile was a personal decision aimed at getting some rest and maintaining privacy. He added that KSA remains deeply connected to his music and legacy.
The family also revealed that steps are being taken to address the source of the false reports and urged the public to disregard the rumors.
“King Sunny Ade is doing well, and we appreciate the concern from fans and well-wishers. We ask everyone to respect his privacy,” the family stated.
