President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, peace and moral rebirth as Muslims commence the Ramadan fast, stressing that forgiveness and compassion should define the sacred month
The President made the appeal on Wednesday during a Ramadan Tafsir held at the State House Mosque in Abuja, describing the fasting period as a time for deep spiritual reflection and a renewed commitment to values that strengthen the nation.

“We start this Ramadan with all the teaching that it brings to us all. But the main principle is to do good to people, to share love and faith, and to forgive sins. I say, if I have sinned, forgive me as Nigerians.”
Tinubu said Ramadan should serve as a reminder for citizens to promote harmony and extend kindness to one another in ways that support national growth and cohesion.
He also encouraged Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation, to offer prayers for peace and lend support to efforts aimed at confronting terrorism, banditry and other security threats facing the country.
In his remarks, Abdulwahid Suleiman, Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, expressed gratitude to Allah for granting Muslims the privilege to witness another Ramadan.
He commended the President’s leadership and offered prayers for wisdom, sound health and strength for Tinubu and his administration, while asking for peace, stability and prosperity across the nation.
