Former UFC heavyweight champion and boxing star Francis Ngannou was reportedly involved in a fatal motorbike accident in Cameroon on Sunday, April 27, 2025, according to multiple local outlets including Camer.be, Lebledparle, and ActuCameroun

The reports claim that Ngannou, 38, was riding a motorcycle in the Omnisports district of Yaoundé when he collided with a 17-year-old girl identified as Ntsama Brigitte Manuella. According to the outlets, she sustained severe injuries to her arm and leg in the crash.
Ngannou is said to have personally rushed the victim to Yaoundé General Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. He is reportedly devastated by the incident and also covered her medical expenses.
Cameroonian authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, which occurred during the Easter weekend.
There are conflicting accounts regarding the exact nature of the accident. Cameroon-Online, which first reported the story, cited one version claiming Ngannou was in a vehicle that struck the victim on a motorbike, while another stated he was riding the motorbike and she was a pedestrian.
Just a month before the crash, Ngannou had shared photos on social media of himself riding an off-road motorcycle in the Cameroonian countryside. It is unclear whether that was the same bike involved in the accident.
This tragic incident comes a year after Ngannou suffered the sudden loss of his 15-month-old son, Kobe, in April 2024.
Ngannou last fought in October 2024, securing a knockout win over Renan Ferreira to capture the PFL heavyweight title. Before that, he made a high-profile transition to boxing, facing Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, though he lost both bouts.
