Nigerian commentator Geh Geh has criticised the Grammy Awards, claiming the global music body has consistently disrespected Afrobeats star Davido despite repeated nominations.
Speaking in a viral video, Geh Geh said:
“In 2026, you allow Grammy dey rubbish you. Them don rubbish you, you no get value again.”
He alleged that the Grammys use Davido’s popularity to promote their awards in Nigeria and Africa without intending to reward him.
“These people are using you to promote their award in Nigeria and Africa… Grammy know say dey can never give Davido that award.”
Geh Geh added that he had earlier advised Davido to stop submitting songs for Grammy consideration.
“I remember when I made a video to advice Davido make e no dey submit him songs to Grammy.”
He also suggested that Davido’s continued pursuit of the award was misplaced, adding:
“But him just dey shout say ‘I want to win Grammy’… Wizkid go dey happy now.”
The comments followed Davido’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards, sparking renewed debate online about the treatment of Nigerian artists by international award bodies.
