Omosede Igbinedion, daughter of Benin High Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
In a letter to the party chairman in her ward, she cited a lack of equity, fairness, and justice within the party, particularly in Edo State, as the reason for her resignation.
According to People’s Gazette, she expressed disappointment that despite her complaints, the party continued to marginalize its indigenous members.
Igbinedion, a former House of Representatives member, stated that she no longer feels committed to a party that does not represent the interests of its original members, including herself.
Her resignation is effective as of August 11, 2024.
