United States President Donald Trump said he is “not at all” worried about the possibility of committing war crimes

His remark followed a warning that the U.S. could destroy Iran’s bridges and power plants if Tehran does not meet his Tuesday 8 p.m. ET deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

On Tuesday morning, Israel and the U.S. struck 17 civilian sites, according to the Iranian Red Crescent. Humanitarian groups have condemned the attacks, calling them war crimes.

The Iranian Red Crescent posted on X that targeting defenseless civilians cannot be justified and amounts to war crimes.

Trump reiterated on Truth Social that he is “not at all” concerned about the legal implications of his actions. A UN spokesperson told the Associated Press on Monday that international law prohibits attacks on such infrastructure.
