The King and a 105-year-old World War II veteran shared a sweet embrace during a remembrance reception at Windsor Castle

The Monarch was pictured hugging Yavar Abbas at the Berkshire Royal residence on Tuesday evening, where Mr Abbas and 12 other World War II veterans from the UK and Commonwealth who served in the Pacific and Indian Ocean were honoured.
Mr Abbas, who served as a combat cameraman in the British Army during the six-year conflict, previously met Charles and Queen Camilla at a service of remembrance in Staffordshire earlier this year.

The Royal couple appeared to be moved by his address to them at the VJ (Victory over Japan) Day event, where he thanked them for attending despite the King’s cancer treatment.
Charles, 76, was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer early last year, and is continuing with his regular treatment programme, which is believed to be a weekly session.
In Windsor, Mr Abbas kissed Camilla’s hand when she sat next to him for a group photo, before he stood to greet the King, who hugged him after they exchanged a few words.
The gesture drew moving reactions from the rest of the guests and they embraced once again as the Monarch left the event.
