The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has approved the Kogi State Government’s plan to build an international airport in Zariagi
According to Commissioner for Information and Communications Kingsley Fanwo, the approval was confirmed in a letter dated October 9, 2024.
The airport will significantly impact the state’s economy and residents.
The airport will serve Kogi State and ten neighboring states, easing traffic congestion on the Lokoja-Abuja roadway. It will also boost the state’s economy, create jobs, and have cargo capacity.
The airport’s strategic location in Zariagi, which already has an airstrip, was praised by the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
The Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Aviation Minister for their support.
