Three years after the untimely d.eath of Nigerian singer Mohbad, the dispute over his burial continues to spark debate, drawing sharp criticism from social media commentator, Oyemykke who has now called him an unfortunate guy
Oyemykke, who is known for commenting on trending entertainment and cultural issues, expressed frustration over the ongoing delay in a social media post. He said;
“I never met Mohbad in person but he is such an unfortunate guy. He married the wrong woman, met the wrong friends and came from the wrong family. Since Sept 2023, he has not been buried… Mohbad, Baba does not want to bury you because he wants to do the DNA, your wife doesn’t want to do the DNA… Let them just bury the boy.
”How much did Mohbad even have that you want to do this DNA?… Mohbad is not resting in peace. It is 3 years.”
The center of the dispute is a DNA test to confirm paternity of Mohbad’s son, requested by his father, Joseph Aloba, before the singer can be laid to rest.
Aloba has insisted that resolving this matter is essential, even as the repeated delays have drawn public criticism.
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has indicated her willingness to comply with the DNA test, but says conditions imposed by the family have slowed progress.
Supporters of the late singer, along with fans, have called for the resolution of the dispute, arguing that the prolonged delay has prevented Mohbad from resting in peace.
