A Nigerian mother has recounted a tragic ordeal involving her young son, who was left with cerebral palsy after a pastor allegedly mishandled him during a “deliverance” session
In a video shared online, the woman explained that her son, who was only one year and four months old at the time, was taken to her husband’s church for prayers.
According to her, the pastor suddenly proclaimed that the child possessed a “great destiny” being hindered by demonic forces and insisted on conducting an immediate deliverance.
During the so-called spiritual exercise, the pastor reportedly lifted the little boy and turned him upside down. Moments later, the child began to convulse repeatedly.
Medical examinations later revealed that the incident caused a severe brain injury, which led to cerebral palsy — a condition that affects muscle control and movement for life.
The mother added that her husband, who was deeply involved in the church, abandoned them when their son turned two years old and went on to remarry.
Her account has stirred widespread outrage online, with many Nigerians condemning reckless “deliverance” rituals and urging authorities to regulate such practices to prevent further harm to vulnerable children.
