Tukur Buratai, a former Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, has spoken on insecurity in the country, claiming that the country is an unbreakable nation
Buratai, in a statement posted on his Facebook page, declared that Nigeria is a country that has been able to withstand threats that would have greatly affected other countries.
He added that the projections given by western institutions are shortsighted, urging global partners to focus on prioritising investments.
“From independence to date, our leaders, civilian and military, have steered this country out of storms many nations would not survive. Nigeria cannot and will not fail. Nigeria’s destiny lies in the hands of Nigerians, a people blessed with abundant resources and an unbreakable spirit. We will not fail. We are rising,” he said.” Buratai said.
The former army chief also lauded past Nigerian leaders like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello, Yakubu Gowon, and Murtala Mohammed for guiding the nation during critical times. He added that the current administration is more accountable and focused on the needs of its citizens.
