“Yesterday April 8th would have been my late dad’s 76th birthday. Yesterday I was sad and moody. The loss of a father is painful. I guess this pain will never go away. I pray God continues to give me and my family the strength to manage this big loss,” he wrote.

Orezi went further to express frustration over Nigeria’s worsening economic conditions, linking it to the growing wave of emigration, popularly known as “japa.” He lamented the impact this trend is having on families, especially after a conversation with his younger brother who lives in Canada.

“The state of Nigeria is so bad that people are continually embracing japa for survival, the damage this does to family unit can’t be over emphasized. The multifaceted effects of our useless and corrupt leaders. Leaders that make decisions that breaks the average Nigerian citizen. They have totally wiped out the middle class,” he said.

He questioned how Nigerians survive on low incomes and warned about the mass exit of professionals from the country.

“Sometimes I wonder how people get by in this Nigeria. I wonder how people that earn 70k, even 150k survive. Doctors don japa finish. Very soon na we go dey treat ourself for hospital,” he added.

The singer also made a personal revelation, suggesting his father might have survived if he had received treatment abroad.

“Wetin kill my papa if he dey abroad he for no die. Happy 76th posthumous birthday. Love you forever.

He continued; “These days I wake up to different people begging me for money… the country is so messed up, people are dying of poverty everyday. I need to make more money. Our leaders are stealing money everyday, nobody dey go jail. How country wan take better? A fvcking banana republic, thief no fit catch thief.”
