Oyo residents appeal to Makinde to reconstruct Elebu road

Residents of Elebu in the Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to reconstruct the Elebu Road, which serves over 50 communities

Punch Metro reports that Elebu Road, which spans to the Circular Road corridor, is currently in a bad condition, making it difficult for both motorists and commuters to ply.

It was further learnt that the road was first constructed during the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration.

Some of the residents of the area, Dolapo Ajao, Iyabode Aina, and Kolade Adeoye, who spoke with Punch Metro on Thursday, said Makinde had promised to reconstruct the road a few years ago during his visit to the area.

They lamented that the deplorable condition of the road was negatively affecting the social and economic lives of the residents.

“As you can see, this is the road. The road is in a bad condition. We are facing a lot of challenges on this road, especially during the rainy season.

“The road is always impassable. Economic activities are being affected.

“In fact, some residents have abandoned their houses as a result of the bad road. We have over 50 communities and over 250,000 people in these areas,” Ajao explained.
