Brazil’s Head Coach, Arthur Elias, is optimistic about the team’s prospects in the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympic Games
The competition will begin with a match against Nigeria at the Matmut Atlantique Stadium in Bordeaux on Thursday.
The match against Nigeria is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm Nigerian time.
Brazil holds a perfect record against Nigeria, having triumphed in their two previous encounters.
This match marks Nigeria’s return to the Olympics after a 16-year hiatus, with Brazil being their last opponents in the event.
In addition to Nigeria, the South Americans will also play current World champions Spain and former World Cup winners Japan in the group stages.
Elias expressed confidence in his squad’s potential to succeed in the tournament.
“The commitment of the team is great. We have got an increasingly strong group of players, and we have a unity of thought,” Elias told FIFA.com.
“This is an important factor for the team to advance in such a difficult competition and also to win in the knockout phase.”
