Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle is in mourning following the tragic loss of his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa, just a day after he joyfully announced her arrival
The veteran actor had taken to social media on Saturday to celebrate the birth of his first child with his wife, Olufunmilayo, but the celebration quickly turned into grief by Sunday.
In an emotional Facebook post, Doyle disclosed that the baby, who arrived on Friday, April 10 at about 10:40 a.m., passed away the following day, Saturday, April 11, at approximately 4:15 p.m.
He described her brief time on earth as painful yet meaningful, noting that she brought immense joy despite her short stay. The cause of death was not revealed.
Doyle expressed faith and acceptance in the heartbreaking message, stating that while they had wished for more time with their daughter, they submit to what he described as God’s will.
He also affirmed his continued belief and strength in God amid the loss, adding that his family remains hopeful and comforted in faith.
He wrote: “Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.
“This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless. Sibe’ sibe’ Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul.”
