Police recover stolen Hilux after arresting man for allegedly stealing from the convoy of Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo
The Deputy Governor’s office confirmed that the vehicle has been recovered. Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Garba stated that police reports indicate the Hilux was traced and recovered in the early hours of Wednesday following a swift, coordinated operation by security personnel.
The suspect, a permanent and pensionable driver, was taken into custody and is cooperating with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
The office praised the professionalism and prompt response of the police and other security agencies involved. It also emphasized that the incident represented a breach of trust by the arrested driver.
“The general public is hereby advised to remain calm and assured that the security of lives and property remains a top priority for the Kano State Government, both within and outside the Government House,” the statement added.
