The Super Eagles of Nigeria have maintained their 38th spot in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings
Updated on Monday, the rankings saw Nigeria hold their position from November, when the team had accumulated 1,502 points, as no competitive matches have been played since then.
Currently in Morocco for the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Super Eagles rank behind African counterparts Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria. Morocco remains Africa’s top team at 11th globally, followed by Senegal at 19th. Nigeria sits 38th, while Algeria and Egypt occupy the 34th and 35th positions, respectively.
Other African teams in the top 10 on the continent include Tunisia (41st), Côte d’Ivoire (42nd), Mali (53rd), DR Congo (56th), and Cameroon (57th).
On the global stage, Spain continues to hold the top position after reclaiming it from Argentina in September 2025. The rest of the top 10 includes England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia, with France securing third place.
