Things are getting serious around Atlanta-based trap rapper OJ da Juiceman’s recent arrest and now his team is speaking out in a big way.
According to his management, the rapper suffered a “serious medical episode” while in custody on March 21, linked to his Type 1 diabetes.
They say it escalated quickly and he had to be rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment. Their concern is blunt: “His health and safety should never have been put at risk in this way.”
This all stems from his March 15 arrest by Georgia State Patrol, where he was hit with 10 charges. Troopers allege that he sped past one of their officers on the interstate and pointed a g.n at them multiple times.
But OJ’s camp says the story isn’t adding up.
According to TMZ A woman has reportedly submitted a sworn affidavit claiming OJ wasn’t even behind the wheel. She says the car involved was rented in her name with OJ helping arrange it but was actually being driven by another man at the time.
According to her, OJ wasn’t present during the incident.
His management insists the accusations go completely against who he is, stressing that he has “the utmost respect for law enforcement.”
They’re also making a bold claim that authorities already know who actually committed the offense, and that it’s not OJ, yet the case is still moving forward.
In the meantime, the situation is affecting his career. His team says he’s missed performances and faced disruptions tied to his latest project, R&B Juice 2, a collaboration with Chester and Zaytoven.
They ended with a warning: “We expect this situation to be corrected and corrected quickly. If it is not, his management and legal team are fully prepared to take swift and aggressive action to protect his rights, including pursuing all available legal remedies.”
