Shola Allyson has spoken out about her approach to music, revealing why she doesn’t include Jesus in her songs and why she creates music inspired by her personal convictions
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, she said, “I’m not a religious singer… My name is Shola Allyson. I’m a singer.”
She addressed critics who expect her to mention Jesus in her songs, saying her music isn’t meant to be a public declaration of her faith.
“Jesus didn’t instruct us to mention His name in songs, nor did He ask us to do PR for Him.”
Shola Allyson also opened up about her personal life, revealing her marriage has been challenging.
Despite being legally married to Toyin Obaniyi since 2003, she lives separately and has three children with him.
“Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it,” she said.
“I can do anything for a man as long as he does not maltreat me.”, she added.
