A group of 103 Nigerians deported from Turkey arrived at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Friday, July 28, 2024

They landed at 6:45 pm on a Southwind Airlines flight and were received by government officials from various agencies, including NEMA, NSCDC, DSS, and the military.
The deportees claimed they were unfairly treated, detained for 11 months, and subjected to inhumane conditions in Turkey, with their valuables seized.
They urged the Nigerian government to intervene, recover their seized belongings, investigate their deportation, and prevent similar incidents.
The reason for their deportation is unclear, but sources suggest immigration violations.
The Nigerian government is investigating, following a series of deportations of Nigerian citizens from countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the US.
