The Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Bilyaminu Moriki, together with 12 other lawmakers, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Moriki announced the defection on Monday during plenary in Gusau after submitting resignation letters to the House. The move follows Governor Dauda Lawal’s defection from the PDP to the APC.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the APC National Secretariat has scheduled Tuesday, March 24, for the formal reception of Governor Lawal into the party. The ceremony will be attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the APC national leadership, and former governors of Zamfara State.
The 13 lawmakers, including Deputy Speaker Adamu Aliyu (Gummi II), Majority Leader Bello Mazawaje (Tsafe East), and Chief Whip Rilwanu Nagambo (Anka), are also expected to be formally welcomed into the APC alongside the governor.
