A tragic case has emerged involving 17-year-old Thompson Adams Omolade, who was reportedly k!lled by friends he knew from primary school after a N150 million ransom demand
According to accounts, Thompson left home last Wednesday saying he was going to visit some former schoolmates who had recently moved to a nearby area, but he did not share a specific address.

By around 5pm, his sister tried reaching him, but his phone was switched off. This raised concern as he had left the house with a power bank, suggesting his phone should not have died so quickly. Repeated attempts to reach him failed.
At about 4am the next day, his phone rang, but no one answered. His family later reported him missing at a police station.
While his sister was still at the station, she received a message from his phone instructing her to download an app to communicate with the abductors. It was then the family was informed of a ₦150 million ransom demand.
With police involvement, investigators tracked the SIM card activity, leading to the arrest of the suspects, who allegedly confessed that they targeted Thompson because they believed his family was wealthy.
The suspects were said to have tied him up, filmed him, and strangled him to de.ath before disposing of his body in a bush. They initially misled authorities by claiming the body was in a canal.
When searches of the canal yielded nothing, police extended inquiries to the community, where residents later pointed them to a lifeless body that had been taken to Yaba after discovery. The family reportedly went there and identified his remains.
Investigations revealed the crime began in Ibeju-Lekki before the suspects fled to Ikorodu, where they were eventually tracked down and arrested by the police.
