An 18-year-old wife who appeared with visible injuries has pleaded with the public and authorities to leave her husband alone despite allegations that he physically a.bused her
The woman made the appeal in a video recorded at what appeared to be a hospital alongside human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu after an earlier clip showing her in distress sparked outrage online.
In the first video, neighbours confronted a man identified as her husband as he attempted to pull the young woman towards him.

“Madam, leave my wife. You want to drag my wife with me,” the man was heard saying.
One of the bystanders accused him of repeatedly assaulting the woman.
“You want to k!ll her. This girl is just 18 years. This man is brainwashing her; he is beating her daily,” the person alleged.
The second video showed the young woman at a hospital, where Gwamnishu spoke about plans to secure the man’s arrest. However, she pleaded that he should be left alone.
“Please, I am begging you, people. It will be as if it is my fault. The mother does not like me, please. Let me just carry myself and be going,” she said.
She added, “I am not going to the marriage again; you people should leave him. I won’t go to the marriage again; don’t arrest him.”
Responding to one of the posts, the Lagos State Domestic and Se.xual Violence Agency wrote: “We are on it. Thank you for tagging us.”
