A 19-year-old boy, Mustapha Adamu, has been arrested by the police in Gombe State for sta-bbing his friend, Yahuza Labaran, to de.ath during a quarrel on a farm
The tragic incident happened on Monday in Kulani Chessi village, Balanga Local Government Area of the state.
Punch Metro gathered that the two friends had gone to the farm as usual when an argument broke out between them around 3pm.
The cause of the disagreement is still unknown.
In the heat of the quarrel, Adamu was said to have pulled out a knife and sta-bbed 20-year-old Labaran in the shoulder, leaving him with deep injuries.
The victim was rushed to the Balanga General Hospital but was confirmed de.ad on arrival by a medical doctor.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a phone interview with Punch correspondent saying the police received the report on Tuesday and immediately moved to arrest the suspect.
According to him, Adamu confessed during interrogation that he didn’t mean to k!ll his friend but acted out of anger.
”We are still investigating the matter. The suspect will be charged to court soon,” Abdullahi said.
