2017 African Cup Host Emerges In April

Four candidates have emerged to host the competition come
2017. They include Algeria, Egypt, Ghana and Gabon. One of these nations would
be replacing Libya who has pulled out of hosting the finals as a result of
    civil turbulence.
The Confederation of African football (CAF) revealed on
Thursday that the host of the 2017 African Cup of nations will be announced on
    April 8 in Cairo, Egypt.

Qualification for the tournament kicks-off in June, with the
host nation taking part for the first time, although their matches will be
considered as friendlies and not count for points.

A total of 52 teams will enter the qualifiers and will be
divided into 13 groups, with the winners advancing to the finals as well as the
    two best runners-up.
