Obi made the clarification while responding to a question from Vanguard about reports suggesting he had reached an agreement to serve as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2027 elections.

The report also claimed Atiku had pledged to serve only one term and was open to putting the agreement in writing.

Speaking at an event in Kubwa, where he donated to a school and hospital project organized by the Anglican Church, Obi neither confirmed nor denied the alleged deal. Instead, he reiterated his dedication to the coalition’s broader mission.

“You can make of the report what you want, but I’m in a coalition against bad governance, hunger, and poverty,” Obi said.

His comments highlighted a focus on national issues and public welfare rather than political maneuvering.
