21-year-old Precious Anegbode has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly st8bbing her boyfriend, Damilola to d8ath
The incident happened in the Ijegun area of Lagos.
It was gathered that the suspect, last Friday, visited the home of the deceased where a fierce argument ensued.
The argument was said to have degenerated into an altercation.
A resident who spoke with a Punch correspondent on Sunday, on the condition of anonymity, said neighbours heard a sustained noisy argument between the two after which Anegbode reached for a kn!fe and st8bbed Damilola in the process.
“We don’t know what led to the quarrel between both of them. We only heard them shouting and the next thing we heard the lady was wailing. When we got to their room, we saw the lifeless body of her boyfriend on the floor,” the source disclosed.
Another resident, who also preferred anonymity, said the neighbours of the deceased immediately took the deceased to the hospital, where he was confirmed d8ad.
“Some of the neighbours took the corpse to the hospital while others prevented the lady from running away. When they got to the hospital, the doctors on duty confirmed him d8ad. Then we later went to the police station to report the incident, and returned with some officers who came to take the lady away,” the resident added.
The command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the incident.
According to him, the case file and suspect exhibit will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for discreet investigation.
