A 27-year-old woman, Micaela Goeieman has been allegedly shot d8ad by her boyfriend, Thabiso Lethabo, in front of their 6-month-old baby
Micaela was laid to rest over the weekend, on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Advocacy group, Women For Change, while mourning her today in a statement said that the incident occurred in the couple’s home in Emndeni Extension 2, Soweto, on June 4th.
Announcing her death and moirning her, the group wrote;

Micaela Goeieman was allegedly shot to d8ath by her boyfriend in their home in Emndeni Extension 2, Soweto, on 4 June 2025.
It is alleged that the couple got into a heated argument before her boyfriend shot her in the head, k!lling her. The boyfriend, 34, allegedly called the police to the crime scene, where he later confessed to the m8rder. He was then arrested.
Micaela leaves behind her 6-month-old baby and 7-year-old child. We are heartbroken over the loss of such a beautiful soul. Another sister was m8rdered. How many more until we declare GBV and femicide a National Disaster?”
