50 Senators Accompany Saraki To Tribunal, Pleads Not Guilty

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who appeared at the Code
of Conduct Tribunal, today, 22nd of September, 2015 has pleaded not
guilty to a 13-count charge on corruption and alleged false declaration of
assets brought against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau.
As the case opened, Mr. Saraki’s lawyers argued that the
matter was not a criminal case, and challenged the jurisdiction of the
tribunal. The prosecution however opposed the argument, while the tribunal
ruled that the matter was criminal and directed Mr. Saraki to go ahead with his
    plea.
The Senate President however pleaded not guilty and was
granted bail on self recognition. His trial will continue on the 21st of October.

50 senators were said to have accompanied the
him to the tribunal. I guess it is a case of a slap on one, is a slap on all.
